Every of them drastically vary with appearance, special abilities and game style. And not only these – they have also very different personalities, voices and battle-cries, which overall increases effect of playing in “living” game, that features bunch of individuals who came to war in order to get some fun.

Equipped with shotgun Scout is very fast and rapidly captures control points. Massive Heavy, with 300 hit points, healed additionally by Medic is almost unbeatable. Engineer constructs sentry guns and supporting buildings like teleports or dispenser. Spy backstabs enemy backs thanks to abilities like becoming invisible or taking appearance of one of opponents. Pyro, Soldier and Demoman can quickly turn group of enemies into dust thanks to flamethrowers, bazookas, and grenade launchers. Sniper takes out those, who can’t be killed by being on the first-line teammates.

Both soldiers and werewolves have their own strengths and weaknesses and key to success lies in proper utilization of both races. It’s a bit a rock-paper-scissors mechanic. Werewolves are unbeatable in close-combat, while they cannot match to soldier’s skills in distance fight. Besides being physically strong, werewolves can use paths unavailable to humans.

Game offers few game modes, four in total, and every of them are team-based. First is team deathmatch, where both teams fight for highest possible count of kills. In Conquest players have to co-operate with each other in order to capture specific points on map. Third one, Destruction, requires from players to plant a bomb, while opposing team has to defuse it. Because standard M16 is not enough
For a free game, Wolfteam has very large selection of weaponry. In order to obtain desired gun, we have to first purchase it through shop. Beside primary weapons, we can get secondary, special and power ups. Whole shopping system works similarly to other free shooters. Instead of “buying” weapon for unlimited amount of time, we are renting for one to thirty days, depending on ultimate selection. Besides gaining access to guns, we can also upgrade them, in order to make them fit to our personal needs. Everything costs of course money. Money – WP points – can be gained through playing. After every game we are gaining specified amount of cash, which depends on number of players killed.

Graphically game looks good, especially for a free to play game. Marines and werewolves are very detailed fluidly animations. It’s exactly the same with weapons. Surroundings have not been made in similarly good quality, but its most what we could expect from game, which weights half gigabyte. Maps are made in differently styled environments. We will run through areas full of advanced technology, hide in temples on Japan-themed maps and hide behind cars in center of city. Thanks to feature that they are diversified, they are not becoming boring fast.

Beginning quests are very generic and they give us general idea about gameplay: talk to NPCs, kill some beastmen, and gather some leather just like in most free multiplayer online games.

During the combat, players can switch between two styles of fighting – first is oriented into 1v1 fights, taking the second raises our battle effectiveness versus multiple enemies. It’s very dynamic and implemented combo system with characteristic animations give SUN a bit of hack’n’slash flavor. Skill system gives us much freedom while taking the specialties, so we are able to make our combat style fit into our needs. It’s especially noticeable during the PvP fighting.

Unlike most Asian free multiplayer online games, SUN doesn’t require from players much grinding. Player vs. Enviroment experience is pushed by storyline and even if quest goals are repeating themselves, game is still very exciting. We don’t have to stay for long in one area and we actually feel that we are becoming stronger. If we are unable to defeat a monster specified in quest, before we decide to level up through grind, we can look for some subquests, which reward us with large amount of experience points.

Another strong aspect of SUN is fantastic music, created by famous composer Howard Shore. He is known from making soundtracks to Lord of the Rings movies and is currently working on upcoming Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey.

Fighting part is just like in other mmorpg games – we wander around in dungeons and full of monster areas, complete quests and socialize through partying and traveling. Activities are mini-games, always accessible for everyone.

Unfortunately, most features becomes unlocked after purchasing a 5$/month subscription. But it isn’t a lot looking on how gigantic Free Realms is. We can do here practically anything we want and despite of game calling itself “social”, it’s difficult to find time to interact with other players. With numerous quests, several jobs to discover and collections to gather, we can count Free Realms as more full-featured game than socializing platform.

Visuals are one of the strongest and elaborated points of Free Realms. Graphically game presents as full of bright, vivid colors. It’s made in cute, cartoonish style, with sensible Disney’s taste. Every in-game location presents beautifully and characters are greatly detailed. In effect, game looks incredible, and it’s even better on more advanced machines.
